CRA-E NSF-Sponsored Workshop on Engaging Undergraduates in Research
This workshop is open to anyone interested in working with undergraduates in research. It will cover the benefits of and best practices for undergraduate research, and will include a brief tour of the CRA-E Conquer website (http://conquer.cra.org/), a resource for undergraduate researchers and faculty mentors. The workshop will also have a panel discussion and Q&A with individuals experienced in working with undergraduate researchers.
The panel will include James O’Brien (professor, UC Berkeley), Lydia Tapia (assistant professor, Univ. New Mexico), and Ross Mead (PhD student, USC) and will be moderated by Nancy M. Amato (professor, Texas A&M University).
The workshop will be held at the USC Institute for Creative Technologies from 12:00-1:00pm on Friday November 7, 2014.
Lunch will be provided.
The workshop is organized by the CRA Education Committee (CRA-E, http://cra.org/crae/) with financial support provided by the NSF.
